“We are all Peter Pans”
Two objects appeared in a bright room. The first one was a great toy made of attributes of the most important childhood idols. The body was stuffed with childhood dreams, longings and fears. The toy-hybrid filled with helium soared under the gallery ceiling. Its contact with the audience was limited to an umbilical cord hanging freely from the belly of the toy.
The second part of the installation was a colorized wedding photo presenting the toy-hybrid and the author of the installation.
The work takes on the topic of doing homework, as we know it from the past, our childhood, managing the wealth of experience and, consequently, conscious construction of identity.
Our life is conditioned by the past, which is why we cannot completely free from childhood, from being Peter Pans. We build the future based on what we once experienced. The childhood period is the most important moment creating our psyche, influencing who we are.
