“2 Lights” (outdoor sculpture)
2016
H. 6,5 m
MATERIAL

This large scale outdoor sculpture symbolizes the existence of two types of light: the first is natural light, divine (illumination, enlightenment, inner development, including metaphysics and emotions), and the second light is invented by man (artificial, technological, futuristic, controlled by the intellect, devoid of feelings) .
The first type of light – structural element of this outdoor sculpture, which is the counterweight – previously held the second type of light in the air, but the current form is the result of making a choice between those two types of light. The consequence of this choice is the reversal, the losing of counterbalance its original function.
A metaphor of the selection of lights
Before making a conscious choice of the type of light the metaphysical being was replaced by material vegetation.
However, after the selection occurs the opening on the other light source: rejection of a cold, heartless technocracy, controlled only by the intellect, that is, the rejection of the simulacrum of life, purely physical aspect of existence in favor of life and Bergson’s élan vital (awareness of metaphysics, the existence of creative energy, life force, structure and dynamics of mental processes)
